Dear visitor, welcome to Learn English With Africa.

This website was born out of a need to offer teaching and learning materials that are both visually and emotionally appealing.

The African continent remains our inspiration with its vibrant colours, story-telling traditions and tales of courage and resilience.

Here, you will find compelling short stories with grammar and vocabulary lessons to help you improve your English in ways that will push the boundaries of your imagination.

We also have a variety of straightforward charts and worksheets that EFL or ESL teachers can use with their students for free.

Lastly, if you are in Warsaw, Poland, you can enrol in some of our creative workhops for children and adults alike. You will kill two birds with a stone by learning English while creating an object at the same time.

About the author and founder

My name is Thandi Ngwira Gatignol. I am a trained English teacher and journalist and I come from Malawi, the warm heart of Africa.

Poland, where I live with my husband and two children, is my current home.

I am passionate about Africa, teaching, learning, writing, reading, graphic designing, cooking, sewing and taking care of my family.

Being a polyglot is something that makes me happy too. I can speak Chichewa, Chitumbuka, English, French, Polish and Italian.

I founded Learn English With Africa in 2015 with the aim of teaching languages differently. Indeed, I draw upon Africa’s rich stories, striking beauty and vivid emotions.

Each month, I strive to create quality content that is lively, thought-provoking and entertaining.
