Hello! This is the beginning of another beautiful and productive week! For five days, i.e from Monday to Friday, you are going to learn how to express your wishes and wants in a varied way.

Today, we are using the verb ‘WANT’ in order to fulfill this task. Are you ready?

Let’s start with some definitions!

WANT (Verb)

  • To desire or need something.
  • To wish for something
  • To desire to do something

WANT (Noun)

  • Something that you need or lack.

How to use the verb ‘WANT’ in context

At School

  • I want to have better grades this year.
  • I want to write better.
  • I want to make less noise in class.
  • I do not want to be punished all the time.
  • I want to continue working hard in all subjects.
  • I want more school trips this month.
  • I want my parents to be proud of my results.
  • I want to get along with my classmates.
  • I want to buy a new school bag.
  • I want to have excellent friendships.
  • I really want to succeed this term.
  • I do not want to fail any exams.
  • I don’t want to upset my teachers.

At Work

  • I want more money on my payslip.
  • I want a salary increase.
  • I want to have better wages.
  • I want to get a promotion this year.
  • I want to get along with my colleagues.
  • I don’t want to work on boring projects.
  • I really want to have an excellent working environment.
  • I do not want to be fired for petty issues.

At Home

  • I want my family to be happy.
  • I want to have an excellent relationship with my wife.
