New Year’s Resolutions are really tough to keep. Most of the times we resume our bad habits as soon as obstacles appear.
As human beings, we need strong motivation to change in areas of health, relationships, work, studies and leisure.
It is easy to make a list of things we want to stop or start doing, however it is difficult to follow through.
It is effortless to create rules for ourselves, but it is painful to implement them.
Change and Transformation are HARD WORK and TIME-CONSUMING but the final result is LONG-LASTING and highly FULFILLING.
In 2019, we can get rid of junky habits and acquire valuable habits. Out With the JUNK! In With the VALUE!
1. New Year’s Resolutions 2019: No More Distractions
Nowadays, there are many things that can distract us from accomplishing our tasks or goals: the Internet, social media, smart phones, video games, gossip, petty quarrels, negative people, just to mention a few.
These activities often have one thing in common: short-term satisfaction.
We should be jealous of our time and spend it on things, people or activities that bring long-term value to our lives.
It helps to identify areas where we lose most of our time. We can then keep track of what we have to do on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.
We will then notice that we are doing our projects at home, at school or at work on time. No more running around like crazy people!
2. New Year’s Resolutions 2019: Time for COURAGE
Fear is really one of our worst enemies.
How many times do we stop from doing something just because we are afraid?
We are mostly afraid to fail or displease people.
This keeps us from starting projects and coming up with something that can be good not only for us but for our loved ones.
There is a question you can ask yourself each time fear is holding you back:
What is the best thing that can happen to me if I do this?
The positive answers that you will get from this will surely motivate you into action.
3. New Year’s Resolutions 2019: Be Positive
Get rid of negativity.
It is really a piece of junk: useless, cumbersome and space-consuming.
We can replace negative thoughts with valuable ones.
Doing the following does help:
- Being around positive people
- Reading a well-written book
- Watching a good film
- Praying or meditating
- Creating something
- Gardening
- Exercising
Remember to love yourself and be there for your family and friends- they are valuable and cannot be replaced.
Every day is a gift-make the most of it. When you wake up in the morning, be happy and do what you have to do with energy, joy and gratitude.
And don’t forget to laugh!
